My running journey began in 2005 in the Polish army — without a watch, a plan, or any clear idea of what I was doing. Fast forward two decades, and I have covered over 2,000 kilometres in competition, won races ranging from 40 miles to 110, set Fastest Known Times, and built a coaching practice that will celebrate its tenth anniversary in 2027. As a running coach, I am not someone who used to race; I am still actively competing, constantly testing my limits, and continually learning. This means that every athlete I coach benefits from insights that are current and relevant, rather than historical. My background is unique — I am medically trained and have a military background, having lived and raced for a decade in the Lake District before moving to the Scottish Highlands. This mix of medical knowledge, military discipline, and over ten years of competitive ultrarunning across the UK and Europe informs my coaching approach. I understand physiology, the experience of suffering, and what it takes to persevere when life becomes complex. Life is inherently complicated. As a father to a young child, I understand the challenges of fitting serious training around sleepless nights, family obligations, and days when plans fall apart. I know how to train alongside a toddler, identify the crucial training sessions when time is limited, and keep making progress even when life is relentless. I offer online coaching for runners of all levels and distances — from 5K to 100 miles. Whether you’re aiming for a parkrun PB, gearing up for your first marathon, or tackling a multi-day ultra, the principles of effective training remain the same: consistency, smart progression, and a training plan that aligns with your real-life circumstances rather than an idealized version of it. My specialty is in ultrarunning, which means that athletes preparing for longer distances gain from my extensive first-hand experience. However, the fundamental aspects I coach — including aerobic development, strength, nutrition, recovery, and race strategy — are applicable across all distances and levels.
